A heat advisory has been extended until Tuesday for Texas County, the National Weather Service said.
Sustained hot temperatures and humid conditions will result in excessive heat early this week.
Afternoon heat index values of 100-109 degrees are forecast today into Tuesday. Overnight temperatures will be in the 70s.
A cold front will move through the area into Tuesday night. Storms that form along the front may bring heavy rainfall and a low-end chance of severe thunderstorms, the National Weather Service said.
