UPDATE: The issue has been resolved. All should be back to normal.
Authorities said early Friday afternoon that 911 calls are not available from landlines in the 417 area code.
Brightspeed, which provides landline service in Texas County, is aware of the situation. (Use cellular or VOIP telephones)
If an emergency occurs, call 417-967-5997 or 417-967-5998, said Texas County 911.
