Bill Bridges, who has been serving as interim chief executive officer, was appointed permanent CEO of Texas County Memorial Hospital effective immediately, the board announced Tuesday.

Bridges has been serving in the interim role since Feb. 6, following the departure of Stace Holland.

The board members unanimously supported the employment decision. With 33 years of experience at TCMH, Bridges most recently held the position of director of emergency medical services before assuming the interim role.

“We are steadfast in our commitment to doing what’s best for our dedicated staff and the patients we serve at this hospital, and we have complete confidence in Bill’s leadership,” said board members.

Board members asked Bridges to help drive the hospital forward, aiming for continued progress and improvement.

“I am excited about taking on this position,” Bridges said. “This is all about teamwork, and we’ll achieve the hospital’s goals with the support of the community and the dedication of our employees. We are fortunate to have exceptional employees, outstanding physicians, and an incredible community, and I am committed to further enhancing and perpetuating this legacy.”

Bridges and his wife, Shannon, a TCMH radiologist technician, live in Houston.
