Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Aug. 15 and 16.
Members:
- Received letters from Paul Foeller.
- Amended the minutes for meetings July 31 and Aug. 1. Notes that the presiding commissioner was absent were removed and the name “Heiney” was changed to “Ross.”
- Attended the Texas County Planning Commission meeting.
- Commissioners Scott Long and John Casey attended the Sustainable Ozark Partnership Annual Meeting in Waynesville.
- Attended the Gentry Council meeting.
- Signed and sent progress invoice #7 concerning Camp Road Bridge.
- Reviewed and acknowledged the transfer of Shannon Harris to the assessor’s office from the collector’s office.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- Cariley Lister, financial monitoring specialist (CDBG), with questions for the collector, clerk and commission on the CDBG grant for Public Water Supply District #1.
- Tammy Cantrell, collector/treasurer, on air conditioning issues in her office, SB190 applications and changes going into effect concerning HB 756.
- Parke Stevens, prosecuting attorney, who informed the commission that he would not be attending prosecutor training and the impact SB 190 would have on schools and other county entities.
- E.J. Beckerdite, maintenance, who requested the purchase of a safety ladder. The commission gave approval.
- Verl Sigman who expressed concerns about roads in Cass Township.
- Amy Edge with questions on roads in Sargent Township.
