Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings July 17, 18, 24 and 25.

Members:

  • Approved the payment of annual dues to the South Central Ozark Council of Governments (SCOCOG).
  • Held a Board of Equalization meeting.
  • Met with representatives from Ollies, Akers & Arney Insurance to discuss liability insurance for the county.
  • Received citizen phone calls on Senate Bill 190 applications, concerning senior citizen property taxes.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Dan Cavendar, BPJ Insurance, concerning property deductible premiums. A letter will be sent to the commission to sign.
  • Lindsay Koch, recorder of deeds, who requested a letter of authorization to collect unclaimed property.
  • Vickie Fox inquiring about when the township stopped maintaining Scott Lane.
  • Grant Wilson, U.S. Rep. Jason Smith’s office, concerning area issues.
  • Jeff Malam, Pierce Township, on road rights of ways for landowners.
  • Mary Ellen Higashi on McCoy Drive in Lynch Township.
  • Ivan Schraeder, attorney, on county matters.
  • Mike and Renee Knapp, Burdine Township, on a board resignation.
  • Jack Rinne concerning Shafer Road in Licking.
  • Reggie Cole, Public Water Supply District #1, on American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
