The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

  • Kristin G. Norris, 41, of 506 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was arrested Aug. 27 for having an active Texas County warrant for a felony charge of hindering the prosecution of a felony.
  • On Aug. 14, a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of a domestic dispute at a Brushy Creek Road residence at Houston.

Upon arrival, the officer made contact with a 45-year-old woman who was on the porch and said she was attempting to leave because her 46-year-old husband had threatened her with physical violence and had shut off her phone.

The woman was reportedly advised that no action could be taken with regard to the phone because it was marital property.

The deputy then made contact with the man inside the home, and he said he had not threatened the woman and that she was the one acting aggressively.

The man was advised of the 12-hour rule and the woman was advised she was free to leave.

  • On Aug. 9, deputies were dispatched regarding a report of a domestic incident at a Highway W residence near Summersville.

Upon arrival, contact was made with a 62-year-old man who said his 35-year-old stepson had come there and yelled and cursed at he and his wife. The wife told officers the stepson had been there three times and was intoxicated and had yelled and cursed each time.

Officers searched the area but didn’t find the suspect.

About an hour later, officers were dispatched back to the residence after being advised that the stepson had returned and was yelling again, as well as beating on doors and windows. The man said he was scared for he and his wife’s safety.

An officer went to the stepson’s residence and located him. He was arrested and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges.

  • On July 17, a 57-year-old man reported that a motorcycle had been stolen from his Pigeon Creek Road residence near Licking.

The man told an investigating deputy that he had been storing another man’s 1999 Honda Shadow Aero 1,100 CC bike valued at $3,500 at his residence, and that he had video evidence showing two men loading it onto a trailer attached to a white truck.

Investigation led to the suspects being identified as a 27-year-old Beulah man and a 30-year-old Rolla man. Probable cause statements were sent to the county prosecutor seeking charges against them.

The motorcycle was eventually recovered, and its owner was advised on Aug. 21 that he could pick it up at the sheriff’s department.
