The Houston Education Foundation will hold its annual ‘Raise a Pint for Education’ fundraiser and a kayak raffle from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at the Piney River Brewery.
The event will feature a cornhole competition, pulled pork, raffles, drinks, live music and more. Music will be provided by Drifters Mile from 5 to 8 p.m.
CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT
The cornhole tournament sponsored by Country Financial and directed by Mid Mo Baggers will begin at 3 p.m. Competition will take place in two divisions – competitive and recreational. There are cash prizes for first through third place in both divisions. The cost is $60 per team, which includes a meal and drink. Registration begins at 2 p.m.
KAYAK RAFFLE
A Perception Tribe 9.5 kayak is currently being raffled. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and are available at In Season Sports and Outdoors, The Corner and the Houston Herald. The sunset colored kayak is valued at $700. A drawing will take place during the event.
