A man who authorities said passed a counterfeit $100 bill at a Cabool convenience store was arrested by police there.

Tito Garza, 44, is charged with forgery following the Aug. 21 incident.

Cabool police said Garza presented the phony bill and an observant clerk determined it was fake. Garza, of Ozark, left in an U-Haul truck.

Police later saw Garza unloading the truck on a Frisco Street. Garza said he was paid with the money.  He told officers he had one more fake $100 bill. Prosecutors say Garza has previous drug-related convictions.

Bond is set at $2,500 cash only.
