Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a Wright County woman died Monday from injuries sustained Aug. 3 in a crash near Grovespring.
Janice D. Rue, 81, was a passenger in a southbound 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by Tommy D. Rue, 84, Grovespring, reported Cpl. Stacy Crewse.
Crewse said the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, then overcorrected, causing the car to overturn.
Dr. James Wycoff pronounced Janice Rue deceased at 1:19 p.m. Monday at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Next of kin has been notified.
It was not known if she was wearing a seat belt. The patrol reported Tommy Rue was wearing a seat belt; he suffered minor injuries and was taken by Wright County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon.
The death marked the 14th fatality in the nine-county Troop G area this year, compared to 18 at this time in 2023.
