For the 13th consecutive year, community members are invited to unite to pray for county schools.
The Prayer Zone Challenge is 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, inside Tiger Fieldhouse at Houston Schools. The event is hosted by the Houston Ministerial Alliance.
Organizers said this year’s gathering will include adjustments to emphasize opportunities for all attendees to pray. After worship from members of Central Baptist Church and a brief devotion from Pastor Jeff McNiell of Faith Fellowship, there will be prayer stations for community members to join together to pray. Each station will be led by a local pastor.
The first Prayer Zone event was held in 2012 featuring a rally, erection of a billboard in town and yard signs distributed to community members. The Houston Ministerial Alliance has continued to facilitate the effort to pray for schools since that time.
