Charles William Hayes of Raymondville, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, after a long series of battles with cancer.

He chose to enlist in the United States Army at age 17 to serve two tours in the Vietnam War (1967-68) and returned stateside to begin his career and start his family.
He was a dishwasher, long haul truck driver, cement mason, photographer, police officer, salesperson, barbecue, lumberjack, painter, builder, restaurateur and jet engine quality control inspector among other professions.
He enjoyed spending his time working, catching up with kinfolk and fellow veterans, playing bingo with his friends, trout fishing, constructing things with his hands, riding motorcycles, spending time with his children and grandchildren, drinking cheap coffee, smoking even cheaper cigarettes and watching Wheel Of Fortune, Jeopardy, his Kansas City Chiefs and old Westerns from his old recliner with his good ol’ dog Buck by his side. He lived for 75 years and is already missed dearly.
