The Texas County Coroner’s office answered 24 calls in August 2024, compared to 16 the previous month.
In the community, there were 23 natural deaths including: cancer (5), pulmonary disease (4), stroke (4), pulmonary embolism (4), cardiac arrhythmia (3), kidney failure, heart failure, anaphylaxis and stillborn birth.
There were no accidental deaths. One death occurred at the South Central Correctional Center. Autopsy results are pending.
