The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

  • A deputy was dispatched at about 6 p.m. Sept. 14 regarding a domestic incident taking place on Highway B near the Big Piney Sportsmen’s Club.

Upon arrival, the officer observed a man and woman standing in a ditch. Contact was made with the woman, 26, who said she and her husband had a heated argument about him leaving her. The man, 28, reportedly told another deputy on scene that the argument had been heated, but not physical.

Both parties were advised of the 12-hour rule.

  • A 69-year-old woman reported on Sept. 9 that her pistol (of unreported type) had been stolen.

The woman told an officer that she had left the gun in her residence while she was in jail. She said she had been evicted and wanted the gun back.

Contact was made with the landlord, and he said he didn’t know where the gun was.

Both people were advised to contact law enforcement if the pistol was found.

  • On July 27, a 29-year-old man reported property damage at a property he owns at Arroll Road near Summersville.

The man told a deputy that fencing had been removed, two outbuildings had been destroyed and another damaged. A neighbor man was contacted and indicated he had a survey done and it revealed that the fence and buildings were on his property, so he moved them.

Investigation is ongoing.
