​​The following are excerpts from reports recently generated by the Houston Police Department:

Between Sept. 23 and Sept. 29, the Houston Police Department answered 192 calls for service and initiated 45 traffic stops resulting in 11 citations and 35 warnings.

  • On Sept. 23, officers investigated an assault that took place between two juveniles at a local sporting event. The matter has been referred to juvenile authorities.
  • On Sept. 23, officers responded to the 1400 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a private property motor vehicle crash. No injuries were reported.
  • On Sept. 23, officers responded to a business on First Street for a scam. The business owner recognized the attempted fraud and alerted authorities.
  • On Sept. 24, officers cited Justin L. McMinn, 44, of Cabool, for failure to abate a nuisance (overgrown vegetation).
  • On Sept. 25, officers responded to U.S. 63, near Highway F, for a motor vehicle crash. A vehicle traveling southbound on U.S. 63 struck a deer crossing the roadway. No injuries were reported.
  • On Sept. 25, officers responded to Texas County Memorial Hospital for an animal bite.
  • On Sept. 28, officers responded to the 1000 block of S. Sam Houston Boulevard for a peace disturbance. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Sept. 28, officers responded to the 100 block of E. Spruce Street for a reported burglary. The investigation is ongoing.
  • On Sept. 29, officers cited Rebecca L. Varney, 65, of Edgar Springs, for careless and imprudent driving.
  • On Sept. 29, officers responded to the 400 block of N. Grand Avenue for a domestic dispute. Both parties agreed to separate for the evening.
