A weeklong celebration kicks off Monday, Sept. 9, as Landmark Villa in Cabool celebrates National Assisted Living Week, which continues through Saturday, Sept. 14.
In conjunction with Assisted Living Week, Landmark Villa will be celebrating its 30th anniversary of service to the senior citizens of Texas County.
“This year’s Assisted Living Week is a special time to recognize and thank those who truly make our assisted living a loving home,” said Elizabeth Brown, administrator. “This is a fantastic opportunity for the communities we serve to celebrate the individuals who live and work in assisted living.”

Activities offered this week at Landmark Villa include a Family Day on Monday (Sept. 9) and “Ed and Pat Gone West” performing bluegrass music on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m.
On Thursday (Sept. 12), Johnny Mace and the County Line Band will be perform at 1:15 p.m.
The big celebration will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, with a “Meet the Candidates” event and 30th anniversary celebration with special festivities. Candidates expected to be on hand with include Mike Kehoe (Missouri Governor), Randi McCallian (U.S. 8th Congressional District), Brad Hudson (Missouri State Senate District 33), Bennie Cook (Missouri State Representative District 143) and Bernadette Holzer (Missouri State Representative District 143).
The week will conclude Saturday, Sept. 14, with a Car Show from 2 to 4 p.m. Landmark Villa residents will choose their top three favorites with prizes for first, second and third place. Hot dogs, sloppy joes, chips and sodas will be served, and there will be face painting for the kids, a bake sale and a silent auction.
