A hurricane that will hit later this week in the South is expected to bring moisture to south-central Missouri, the National Weather Service said.

Tropical Storm Helene is forecast to move into the southeast U.S. and then meander northwest into the Tennessee and Ohio valleys. Moisture from this system will shift into south-central and eastern Missouri with heavy rain potential late this week into the weekend, it said.
