Cabool Art Club members brought an abundance of autumn decor to the Oct. 15 meeting featuring “Wreath Making.”

This event was at Cabool Methodist Church and hosted by Carol Pettijohn, Sari Wright and Marie Beller. President Shelley Travis called the meeting to order. Marie Beller led the roll call and gave the treasurer’s report. The minutes of the September meeting were read and approved.

The primary topic of business was the “Christmas on Main” event scheduled for Dec. 7 in downtown Cabool. Art Club members are excited about the special activities they will be hosting for the community on that day. More information will come soon.

Members were treated to an entertaining session demonstrating attractive ways to decorate and repurpose favorite seasonal wreaths. Familiar wreaths were transformed with imaginative uses of ribbon, creative types of bows, addition of flowers and placement of festive adornments.

The wreath adaptations, led by Lyn Santa, provided many design ideas and simple ways to add new interest and specific meaning to current decor. The session was especially meaningful as club members begin preparations for the holidays ahead.

The meeting adjourned to enjoy fall themed refreshments. Members and guests present were Kathy Anderson, Marie Beller, Missy Clark, Liz Durham, Felicia Ellis, Joyce Jones, Carol Pettijohn, Lyn Santa, Vanetta Sponsler, Shelley Travis, Tracey Trettin, Vicki Woods and Sari Wright.

October festivities continued with an evening “Campfire” event on Oct. 24 hosted by Sari Wright. Club members and family guests gathered to enjoy food, fellowship and fun in a scenic outdoor setting surrounded by vibrant fall foliage.

The November meeting will feature a presentation on African art by Dr. Sam Iverson.
