The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

  • At about 7:25 p.m. Sept. 21, a woman called to report a domestic assault.

The woman told a deputy that her 23-year-old daughter’s 27-year-old boyfriend had pushed her daughter on Brown Hill Road at the church. At about 7:30 p.m., the daughter called and said her boyfriend’s mother was at her residence causing problems.

The officer went to the daughter’s Brown Hill Road residence and she said her boyfriend’s mother had left, and that her boyfriend had also left in her van.

The officer asked if there had been a physical incident, and the daughter said her boyfriend had in fact pushed her, but she then refused to cooperate further.

The officer patrolled the area and was unable to locate the boyfriend or his mother. The 12-hour rule was put into effect.

  • At about 11 p.m. Sept. 22, a woman reported domestic violence at her School Drive residence at Plato.

The woman told an investigating officer that a 43-year-old woman had assaulted her 33-year-old son. The officer contacted the son by phone and he said nothing had happened and he no longer wanted to speak to law enforcement.

The 12-hour rule was put into effect.

  • On Feb. 20, a deputy was dispatched to a Fallen Road residence at Eunice regarding a report of a violation of a protection order.

The officer made contact with a 51-year-old woman there who said her 51-year-old former boyfriend had come onto her property. The woman showed the officer four photographs depicting the man driving a white Ford F-150 and loading a motorcycle onto a trailer.

On Feb. 21, the officer made contact with the former boyfriend, who said he felt he had the right to go to the property and retrieve his belongings, and that he hadn’t made any contact with the woman. He advised the deputy he had taken away two motorcycles and a trailer.

The officer advised the man he needed to make contact with him in person, and the man – a truck driver – said he would be on the road for a while and didn’t know when he would return. The deputy advised the man that if he didn’t hear back from him, he would petition for a warrant.

On Oct. 7, the deputy made contact with the man and advised him there was a citation for violation of a protection order he needed to pick up, or a report would be sent to the county prosecutor for a warrant. The officer told the man he had two weeks to pick up the citation, and the man said he would comply.

Investigation continues.
