Several large murals were removed Monday from the wall of a building on Pine Street in downtown Houston.

The murals were mounted there in the mid-2000s. The removal job was done in advance of a new mural being created by an artist from Houston, Texas. That nationally known muralist also will be completing one for the children’s section of the new Houston library.

The old ones will be displayed at Larry Dablemont’s Piney River Museum, which is scheduled to open this fall.
