Happy Halloween!

Several Halloween-related activities are planned by organizations in the area.

Here is a listing:

  • A downtown Houston Halloween activity is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31.
  • Licking’s 11th annual “Light the Night Festival” is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. A costume contest is 6 p.m. inside city hall. Age groups are 0-4, 5-11 and 12 and up. Prizes will be awarded.

Moonshine Express will perform 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in front of city hall on Main Street. Haunted mill tours are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Residents are invited to join on Main Street and set up a table for treating. Anyone wanting to participate can call 573-674-2521.

  • The Houston Fire Department’s 16th annual free Halloween Hotdog BBQ is 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 at the fire station near Hawthorn Avenue and First Street. This year, hotdogs and buns have been donated by Houston’s Eagle Club.
  • The Cabool chamber will host a “Trunk or Treat” event Thursday, Oct. 31 on Main Street, with a costume contest at 5:30 p.m. followed by a parade and trunk or treat until 7:30.
