Amendment 3 has misleading wording that I wish to bring to the attention of those who think it is for the intent of women’s health.
Women who have ectopic pregnancies – outside of the womb – or miscarriages, and need emergency medical attention are already protected by the current law in effect (see Section 188.017 of the Missouri Right to Life of the Unborn Child Act).
Amendment 3 is really about legalizing abortion for those who don’t want the “inconvenience” of pregnancy or rearing a child, and allows abortion to be used as a birth control method. It is a women’s “right” act to allow the killing of their unborn baby at any time until birth, which also may cause undue harm to the woman, physically and emotionally.
Under Amendment 3, there will be no protections or restrictions for proper medical attention, therefore it is definitely not for women’s health.
A no vote will protect both the mother and her unborn child.
