The Houston R-1 School District board of education made several personnel decisions during a closed session meeting Tuesday, Oct. 8 

The board unanimously approved the resignations of Carla Randall as human resources/payroll, with her last day of work Oct. 18, and Regan Lundin as high school counselor administrative assistant, with her last day of work Dec. 20. 

In a 5-2 vote, the board approved Jacob Boldon as director of transportation for the 2024-2025 school year. Marty Merckling and Tressie Neugebauer voted no. 

In a 6-1 vote, the board approved Rachel Fishel as bookkeeper/payroll for the 2024-2025 school year pending a background check. Marty Merckling voted no. 

The board unanimously approved the employments of Trevor Sudheimer as assistant high school girls basketball coach for the 2024-2025 school year, Ian Evans as color guard/percussion for the 2024-2025 school year, pending a background check; Jami Teem as substitute cafeteria cook for the 2024-2025 school year, pending a background check; and Laura Twyford as substitute cafeteria cook for the 2024-2025 school year, pending a background check.
