A Hartville man was injured Thursday afternoon in an accident three miles east of his hometown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Cpl. Travis Brown said a westbound 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante driven by David M. Green, 66, ran off Highway HH, overcorrected, ran off the opposite side of the road, struck a rock embankment and overturned.

Green, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with moderate injuries by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. The vehicle was totaled, Brown said.
