In its latest report, the Cabool Police Department listed a range of activities, including traffic stops, arrests and responses to local incidents.

The department reported 16 traffic stops resulting in 16 summons and six warnings issued. One warrant arrest was made.

Heath Bressie, of Mountain Grove, was driving a 1989 Nissan truck south on U.S. 63 Tuesday (Nov. 12) evening when he lost control and struck an eastbound 2022 Toyota Highlander while turning west onto Ozark Street, officers said. The Toyota was driven by Natalie Rodgers of Willow Springs. No injuries were reported.

Officers received information about a wanted fugitive – George Leslie Stark Jr. – located in Cabool Friday (Nov. 15) afternoon. Officers, alongside Missouri State Highway Patrol personnel, responded to the address and observed Stark on the front porch. He fled into the residence and barricaded himself in. The Texas County Special Response Team responded to the scene where he peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody.

In total, police handled one accident, seven animal complaints, one mental instability incident, assisted other agencies nine times and assisted the public three times.

The fire department was dispatched 11 times.
