Texas County is in second in the statewide fall firearms deer harvest on Tuesday morning, Nov. 19.

Rainy weather affected the deer harvest Monday in Texas County.

The Missouri Department of Conservation reported the county started Tuesday in second place in the state with 1,455 deer killed. Leading Missouri is Franklin (1,805) and Howell, third, (1,281).

The breakdown for Texas County is antlered bucks (827), button bucks (114) and does (514).

The 10-day season began Nov. 16.
