The annual Christmas campaign that benefits deserving children in Texas County is underway.
Pat Miller, Share Your Christmas coordinator, said applications are taken from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Houston Lions Club Den on North U.S. 63 in Houston. The deadline to sign up is Dec. 6, she said.
“We need donations of good used men’s, women’s and children’s clothes and shoes. Any type of household items such as pots, pans, glassware, sheets, blankets, etc.,” she said.
An Angel Tree will soon be in place at Houston Walmart Supercenter on South U.S. 63. It details individual cases that need donations.
Here are the first cases:
Case No. 1: This little 3-year-old boy’s Christmas wish is simple. He wants trucks of any kind. His needs are size 4 toddler pants and shirts and size 10 children’s shoes. Socks and underwear are also a need of this child. The family would appreciate some towels or blankets.
Case No. 2: A 7-year-old girl needs size 7/8 pants and shirts and size 13 children’s shoes. Her toy wish is a MyLife doll or a Squishmallow. Her 4-year-old sister needs size 4 toddler clothing and size 8 children’s shoes. Her wish list includes Minnie Mouse toys or a Squishmallow. Both girls are in need of hats, gloves and socks.
Case No. 3: Size 12–18-month boy clothes are needed for a 1-year-old boy. He needs size 6 toddler shoes and socks, and size 4 diapers. Any age-appropriate toy would make him happy. A baby doll or Barbie things are what his 7-year-old sister hopes to get for Christmas. She needs size 7/8 girls clothing and size 2 girls’ shoes as well as some socks and underwear.
Case No. 4: A 16-year-old girl would love some new clothes for Christmas. Her sizes are small in junior’s tops and pants and size 8 women’s shoes. She likes makeup, nail polish or any girl things.
Case No. 5: Twin boys, age 10, are in need of winter clothing. One boy wears size 10/12 pants and shirts and size 7 ½ shoes. The other one needs size 8 clothing and size 7 shoes. Their wishes include remote control cars or a skateboard. Both boys need sock and underwear.
