Fall firearms deer season ends Tuesday in Missouri.

Hunters in Texas County harvested about 400 deer Saturday, reports the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The number stood at 2,532 early Sunday, it reports.

That is second place in Missouri. Leading the state is Franklin with 3,082. Third is Howell County with 2,355. Other top counties in the state: Macon (2,214), Pike (2,176), Callaway (2,153) and Benton (2,068)

The breakdown in Texas County shows: Antlered bucks (1,292), button bucks (213) and does (1,027).

The season lasts 10 days and ends Tuesday, Nov. 26. During the fall firearms deer season in 2023, there were 4,208 deer killed in the county.
