A man from Licking will stand trial in February after he was charged with shooting at a family riding in a buggy in 2021.

Chadwin Wade, 49, is to appear Feb. 10-11 in Texas County Circuit Court on three counts of assault and armed criminal action, felonies. The case is being overseen by Circuit Judge Brendon Fox. A pre-trial conference is Jan. 9.

Upon arrival at the alleged crime scene, officers spoke with a man who said he was leaving his residence with his wife and children in a buggy. Authorities said the man told officers that a neighbor – later identified as Wade – fired a rifle at them.

No one was struck by the gunfire, authorities said.
