Two Nixa residents were hurt late Wednesday night in a Highway 17 crash about three miles northwest of Summersville, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

MSgt. Ryan Vaughan said a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Silverado ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a driveway embankment, went airborne, struck the ground and overturned at about 10:50 p.m.

The 28-year-old driver had moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. A passenger, a 6-year-old girl, had minor injuries and also went to the hospital in Houston.

Vaughan said the vehicle was totaled. The driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt; the passenger was restrained.

The patrol began not releasing names in accident reports on Nov. 1, citing their use by online scammers.
