Two persons were injured Sunday — one of them seriously — in a crash southwest of Licking on Highway BB.

Cpl. Jacob R. Sellars said a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 57-year-old Licking woman failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, traveled off the left side and struck a tree.

The woman sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to Cox South in Springfield. A passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Pawhuska, Oklahoma, had moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston. Neither was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle was totaled.

The patrol recently stated it would no longer release the names of accident victims or fatalities.
