An Elk Creek resident sustained minor injuries Wednesday afternoon when she struck a cow with her vehicle on Highway Y in southern Texas County.

Tpr. Zayne Tate said the 35-year-old driver was driving eastbound when the accident occurred at about 12:40 p.m.

The woman, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by Texas County Memorial Hospital ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Mountain View.

The 2015 Toyota Avalon was totaled.

The patrol began not releasing names in accident reports on Nov. 1, citing their use by online scammers.
