The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a second fatality within three hours in Dent County on Sunday.

A 23-year-old Salem driver of a northbound 1993 Chevrolet S-10 traveled off the right side of Highway 72, struck a tree and partially ejected the driver from the rear glass at about 4 a.m. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased by Dent County Coroner Ben Pursifull. Next of kin was notified.

A 29-year-old Salem resident was killed early Sunday in a motorcycle accident on Highway 32, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The man was traveling westbound when his 2008 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 lost control in a curve and traveled off the left side of the highway at about 12:54 a.m. The man, who was not identified as part of a patrol policy that releases no names on accident reports, was pronounced dead by Dent County Coroner Ben Pursifull. Next of kin has been notified. The motorcycle has extensive damage.
