The Texas County Coroner’s office answered 15 calls in November 2024.
In the community, there were 10 natural deaths, including two deaths due to cancer; one due to myocardial infarction (heart attack); two due to heart disease, two due to lung disease; one due to cardiac arrhythmia, one due to kidney failure and one due to a perforated ulcer.
During the month, there were two accidental deaths, both due to falls. There was one suicide by gunshot wound to the head.
Two deaths occurred at South Central Correctional Center, one was natural (stroke) and one was due to probable overdose.
