Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Dec. 18 and 19.
Members:
- Reviewed and signed a letter for reimbursement for 15 corners under the County Surveyor Co-op Re-monumentation contract. The council will be reimbursed $5,250.
- Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Josh Hurst as a full-time jailer effective Dec. 25.
- Were informed by County Clerk Peggy Seyler that budget packets went out to each department head and were due back by Dec. 29.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- Leann Green who informed the commission that Boone Township Clerk Brenda Bartleson is resigning. The board would like to appoint Maggie Short to the position. The commission approved the appointment.
- Collector/Treasurer Tammy Cantrell that her office is having issues scanning documents.
- Prosecuting Attorney Parke Stevens Jr. on the procedure to dispose of computer equipment.
- Circuit Clerk Erin Smith on banking issues and a bill for technological services sent to her office.
- The maintenance department on facility improvements to consider.
- Guy Ceplina concerning river indicators funded through emergency management.
- Concerned citizens on what can be done to repair Shafer Road in Licking.
