Houston High School teacher Carman Scholz was celebrated recently for being selected as a 2024 McDonald’s Outstanding Educator.
Houston McDonald’s GM Stephanie Fuwell and Hilburn-Vaini McDonald’s Supervisor Jen Depler visited the school to present Scholz with the award and a $100 gift card.
Local McDonald’s restaurants started this award program five years ago to celebrate area teachers and honor them for exhibiting the ultimate dedication to their students and going the extra mile to contribute to the improvement of education. Scholz was selected from a pool of over 400 nominations.
“Our local educators consistently give their best to ensure the success of our students,” said local McDonald’s Owner/Operator Andi Hilburn-Vaini. “Carman truly deserves this recognition, and it’s an honor to celebrate all that she does for children in the Houston community.”
Scholz was nominated for her dedication to her students and community. Her nominator says she genuinely cares about her students and their educational journeys, consistently encouraging them to strive for their best selves. Through her leadership and unwavering support, she empowers her students to grow both academically and personally. The impact she has made makes her a vital and inspiring presence in Houston, and she truly embodies what it means to be an exceptional educator.
