Montauk State Park will remain closed through February as park staff continues to remove sand, gravel and woody debris from the campground and daily use areas east of Licking, officials said.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has extended the closure of Highway 119 into the park while heavy machinery continues clean-up operations.

Dent County has also lengthened the closure of County Roads 6630, 6660 and 6670 into the park. MoDNR efforts to reopen the park are focused on removing debris, assessing and restoring basic infrastructure, such as electrical, water and wastewater, roads and bridges, and park buildings and facilities affected by the historic flood on Nov. 5.
