Filings for the April municipal election continue to be slow in the area.

At the city, filings included: Morgan Patterson, Ward III; Joshua Hatch, mayor; Sam Kelley, mayor; Kevin Stilley, mayor; and Adam Vandiver, Ward I.
At the city, school and hospital, here are the open positions:
City of Houston: Three, two-year terms on the city council. The positions are held by Fred Stottlemyre, Ward I; Tim Ceplina, Ward II; and Angie Gettys, Ward III. One, two-year term as mayor. The position is held by Viki Narancich.
Houston R-1 School District: Two, three-year terms on the board of education. The positions are held by Jeff Gettys and Jennifer Scheets.
Texas County Memorial Hospital: One, five-year term on the board of trustees. The position is held by Jerri Sue Crump. Crump was appointed to the position in August after Steve Pierce’s resignation in February left a vacancy.
Other elections in the area include those at the townships and water districts.
