Rodney Vance Barthe, Jr., age 41, was born on July 15, 1983, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He passed away on Dec. 5, 2024, at his home in Houston, Missouri.

Vance is preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris and George Nash and Frank and Janet Barthe.

Vance attended Houston High School and graduated in 2003. He had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He liked going out to eat, watching TV shows and movies and was interested in and enjoyed martial arts. He was very adventurous and especially fun at water parks and amusement parks. He rode ALL the rides! He was also a volunteer helper at the Texas County Food Pantry.

Vance is survived by his mother and stepfather, Carol and Randy Bryson; father and stepmother, Rod and Kathryn Barthe; wife Sarah (Mortensen) Barthe; two aunts, Lynn and Kerry Lewis and Loren and Eddie Taylor; uncle, Kevin Barthe; cousins, Richard Bee, Julie Kirby, Arin Lewis, Kim Finch, Lannie Taylor, Cassie Power and George Taylor, as well as many other extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial visitation for Vance will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Rayappa Chinnabathini officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Texas County Food Pantry in memory of Vance. Arrangements entrusted to Evans Funeral Home.
