Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during a meeting Wednesday, Nov. 27. 

Members:

  • Signed and approved an agreement with United Healthcare for employee health insurance for next year. 
  • Signed a contract for Medical Air Services Association (MASA) ambulance services for next year. 
  • Heard from the budget officer concerning a shortfall of funds in the county clerk’s budget for wages and election costs. This will not put the general revenue fund over in the budget, said commissioners. 
  • Approved placing the senior tax credit question as outlined in RSMO 137.1050 on the April ballot. 
  • Discussed installation of a remanufactured transmission in a spare department vehicle with the sheriff. 
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the transfer of Samantha Beckerdite from the public administrator’s office to the county clerk’s office as deputy county clerk. Her duties include payroll, account payables and human resources. 
  • Reviewed the cost and signed contracts for new election equipment from Adkins Printing. 
  • Reviewed a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) flood insurance study for a Dec. 12 meeting. 
  • Reviewed and signed progress invoice for FLAP #5 for the Paddy Creek project. 

In other business, commissioners heard from: 

  • Sean Smith concerning pending litigation.
