Texas County communities will hold Christmas parades this week.

Here are the details:

Licking’s Christmas parade is Saturday

Licking will host its annual Christmas parade on Saturday, Dec. 7.

The event is at 4 p.m. with lineup occurring at Licking High School. This year’s grand marshal is Viola Bailie.

The theme is “Christmas Treats.”

A Christmas craft fair – with free admission – is 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. that day at the Licking VFW Hall. Santa will be available for pictures from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. For booth information, contact Joan Brannam at 573-674-2547.

A “Christmas Cookies by the Pound” event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The event is slated at the Texas County Museum of Art and History. The cost is $4.50 a pound.

Cabool to hold holiday parade on Friday

Cabool’s annual Christmas parade is 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

Here is the route: Starting at Kabul Nursing Home, traveling east on Ozark Street, turning south on Walnut Avenue, turning west on Main Street and continuing back to the nursing home.

Here is the check-in and lineup information: Floats and bands, 4:30 p.m. at Main and Highway 181; everyone else, 5 p.m. at Cherry Street and Highway 181; big rigs and truck/trailer, 5 p.m. on the south side of Main Street.

A tree lighting ceremony follows the parade.
