As the year comes to a close, I reflect on how thankful and honored I am to be the director of the Texas County Library.
Our staff and board are so wonderful! We accomplished so much in 2024 such as a successful Summer Reading program for the kiddos and adding many new books to our collection for all four branches. All branches also had successful book sales thanks to all the volunteer help and community support!
The most exciting thing for the library in 2024 was starting the construction on the new main branch in Houston. We want to thank all the donors for helping us make this dream a reality. There is plenty more to come in 2025 and we are excited for the wonderful future!
The library will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and be closed all day Christmas Wednesday, Dec. 25. We will also close at 1 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and be closed all day New Year’s Day.
We wish all our patrons Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year!
Book Club is every month at the Houston branch and will kick off in January at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11.
Come check out these new arrivals: “Lies He Told Me” by James Patterson and David Ellis, “The Book of Doors” by Gareth Brown, “Arkansas Summer” by Anne Moose, “The Mermaid Mystery” by Tamar Myers and “March Madness” by Jana DeLeon.
Friends of the Library needs Friends! Ask how you can become a part of your local Texas County Library branch’s Friends Group. Friends of the Library strengthens libraries’ presence in communities and helps them thrive through fundraising, volunteering, advocating and so much more.
