Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a fatality Tuesday night claimed the life of a Tecumseh teenager within its nine-county area.

Tpr. Daniel Johnson said a westbound 2010 Pontiac G5 driven by a 16-year-old girl failed to stop at a sign and traveled into the path of a southbound 2014 Ford F-150 driven by a 44-year-old Gainesville man, causing it to strike the Pontiac. Both were totaled.

Both vehicles traveled off the southwest side of the intersection on Highway 5 and came to a rest.

The truck’s driver was taken by a private vehicle to an unknown hospital with minor injuries.

The patrol no longer releases the names of persons involved in accidents.
