Texas County residents are invited to participate in a regional “Wreaths Across America” event Dec. 14 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Mountain View.

The event begins at 10:30 a.m. at 1019 E. Third St., organizers said. The public is welcome to accompany the wreaths that will be escorted from VFW Post 3009 by the Mountain View Police Department and its fire department.

Ozark Spring, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (Ozark Spring, NSDAR) along with the ongoing support provided by the VFW Post 3009 of Mountain View, family members present and volunteers from the local and surrounding communities will place the Remembrance Wreaths on as many of the graves of fallen heroes as possible.

In remembrance and honor of their service to the country each veterans’ names will be read aloud as the wreaths are placed on their graves. Persons should bring a lawn chair.
