Someone purchased a $1 million Missouri Lottery ticket Friday at Town and Country Supermarket in Willow Springs.

A person who bought a Mega Millions ticket at 719 E. Main St. won $1 million in the drawing by matching all five white-ball numbers drawn – 3, 7, 37, 49 and 55. Missouri state law prohibits the identification of lottery prize winners by name.

The win marks Missouri’s sixth $1 million winner during the most recent Mega Millions jackpot run, which began on Sept. 10 and concluded with a $1.269 billion jackpot win in California on Dec. 27. The jackpot reset to $20 million for Dec. 31’s drawing.

Since the jackpot was won, the Mega Millions “Jackpot Reset” promotion was activated, giving players in Missouri a free Mega Millions ticket with a qualifying purchase through this Friday.

Prizes of more than $600 may be claimed by appointment at any of the Missouri Lottery offices, which are in Springfield, Jefferson City, Kansas City and St. Louis. Draw Games winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. In this case, the winner has until June 25 to present their $1 million winning ticket.
