A fireman was killed Thursday night in a crash in Oregon County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. C.C. Battreal said an eastbound Thomasville Fire Department truck driven by a 66-year-old woman traveled off the right side of Highway 160 four miles south of Thomasville, overcorrected, crossed the center of the roadway, began to skid and traveled off the left side, struck a ditch and overturned. The department was responding to a fire.

A passenger, a 72-year old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Oregon County coroner. The driver was flown with serious injuries to Regional Medical Center in Memphis.

The fire truck was totaled. Next of kin has been notified.

The patrol no longer identifies those involved in accidents.
