Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Jan. 22 and 23.
Members:
- Held a public viewing of the 2025 budget. Chris Cox attended.
- Signed and approved an HRA/Health Reimbursement Arrangement for county employees to help with eligible medical expenses.
- Reviewed and approved county payroll dates and holiday schedule for employees for the 2025 fiscal year.
- Signed and approved the 2025 county budget.
- Reviewed and approved a Morris Township road maintenance contract.
- Reviewed a support letter for South Central Ozark Council of Governments (SCOCOG) solid waste management projects in Texas County.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- County department heads on the 2025 budget and questions related to their respective departments.
- Mary Ellen Higashi, Lynch Township, on township issues.
- Joe Tabor via phone about an issue with a county office.
- Grant Wilson, Congressman Jason Smith’s office, on state and county concerns.
- David Scantlin on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) projects and an upcoming township advisory meeting.
