Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Jan. 15 and 16.
Members:
- Met with Jack Rinne, Carol Fox, Anthony Brush, Kenny Trout, Lonnie Buckner, Gerald Ross and Larry West concerning Shafer Road in Licking. They requested that the commissioners write a letter to the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) explaining that the road is a hazard to the citizens of the county. They also requested a resolution be developed to support the effort.
- Reviewed sections of the 2025 budget.
- Approved the collector’s request to remove deceased taxpayers from tax rolls.
- Attended the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) application meeting for governmental agencies in response to November flooding.
- Reviewed and approved a hazardous mitigation plan for the county.
- Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Alaina Snelling and Anthony Connelly as full-time jailers effective Jan. 13.
- Heard that Devin Cook gave verbal notice of resignation as a full-time jailer effective Jan. 12.
- Discussed office space for the coroner.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- David Scantlin on FEMA updates.
- Sean McGonigle, MAC representative, on MAC Trust.
