Governmental entities in Texas County have until Friday to apply for FEMA repair funds following flooding last November.
The State Emergency Management Agency early held a meeting in Houston to conduct applicant briefings for local governments and non-profit agencies applying for public assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
All requests for Public Assistance (RPAs) must be submitted to FEMA within 30 days of the Jan. 1 disaster declaration date, or Jan. 31. RPAs must first be received and processed by SEMA before being submitted to FEMA by the deadline, so applicants should plan accordingly.
For those who are unable to attend a briefing, a recorded video and other important information is available online at sema.dps.mo.gov/programs/state_public_assistance.php (video is located under DR-4855 tab). For questions call 573-526-9378.
