At 9:11 p.m. Wednesday, personnel with the Houston Rural Fire Department responded to a house fire at Iowa Road in Houston.

Department officials said the fire started in the wall at the working fireplace and began spreading through attic space.

Firefighters reportedly made entry, halting the spread of the fire, while a roof team simultaneously vented the roof.

An effort to help the family was announced. Items can be dropped off at Opportunity Sheltered Industries at the Houston Industrial Park off West Highway 17.

•Boy 5t shirt and pants 8 shoe and 4t/5t pull-ups

•Boy 7/8 shirt and pants size 1 shoe

•Dad 38/32 paints 3xl shirt size 14 shoe

•Mom large shirt and pants and size 8 shoe
