Netha Wanema Neal Kmetz was born on Dec. 25, 1943, to Joseph Ray Neal and Nellie June Neal Lawson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her four children, Rhonda June McCabe, Kenneth Ray Thomas Jr., Terry Wayne Thomas and Keith Dean Thomas; as well as six siblings, Nolan Neal, Nealin Neal, Narson Neal, Narlin Neal, Neldon Neal and Nelton Neal.
She is survived by her seven children, Jimmie Sue Hale and spouse Troy, Lavonda Collette, Thomas Hampton, Kurt Thomas, Darrell Thomas and spouse Vicki, Kevin Thomas and Jessie Thomas. Netha also leaves behind three siblings, Natrila Mace, Narlene Neal and Nynal Neal, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with her precious “Angel Baby” Reagan Fletcher.
Netha accepted Christ as a child and later rededicated her life to Him in adulthood. She was a faithful attendee of Roby Baptist Church, cherishing her time spent in fellowship with her church family. A dedicated homemaker, Netha contributed her skills as a seamstress, sewing patches for Major League Baseball teams. She found great joy in being a Granny for her grandchildren when they were all ages.
Some of Netha’s fondest memories were of family dinners and holidays where her family was around. She loved camping at the river with family. Netha also loved to visit and see her friends, whether that was through phone calls, sitting on the porch or riding in a van headed to appointments.
Netha was dearly loved and touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, love, and dedication to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Though she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the assurance that we will see her again in heaven.
A memorial service for Netha will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at the Roby Baptist Church. A visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Craddock Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.foxfh.net. Arrangements are entrusted to Fox Funeral Home.
